This lighthearted watercolor piece captures the charm of a traditional Taiwanese breakfast shop. To me, breakfast shops are some of the best places to observe society. Breakfast is an essential start to the day, fueling students and workers alike with the energy they need. In these shops, you’ll find sleepy students, playful children, and busy parents rushing to drop their kids off at school. No matter what stage of life people are in, they pause at these breakfast shops for a brief moment of rest before continuing their journey.

Beyond capturing daily life, this piece is also inspired by the traditional breakfast shop next to the house where I grew up. Painting this scene allowed me to revisit cherished childhood memories and relive the comforting atmosphere of those mornings.
